Re: Kiss Members Autobiographies

Pete's is far & away the best. It's trashy, he's critical of himself, he got into lots of trouble & talks about it all - a very fun read! I put this one up there with No One Here Gets Out Alive, Hammer of the Gods, Up & Down with the Stones, stuff like that as far as being a fun & informative rock biography with plenty of entertaining dirt being slung around. If I was going to give someone just one of these Kiss autobiographies to read it would be Pete's, without a doubt the top dog...er, cat
Paul's has tons of great Kiss info thru the years. Unfortunately he's pretty sanctimonious throughout the entire thing & it takes something away from the book overall. The details growing up with the ear deformity are interesting & a great window into Paul, probably more so than we ever got to see before. But after that the personal stuff is much less impressive. He's extremely critical of everyone from Aucoin & the other band members to his own family members without ever once turning that intense critical eye onto himself to be honest about any of his own shortcomings. After reading this book it becomes pretty obvious that Paul thinks his own shit doesn't stink. It's a little dry & it

Stanley, founded the band way back in 1973, with Gene Simmons, Ace Frehley and Peter Criss, and from the outset, Kiss were far away from being your average “boy band”, playing hard rock music, wearing black and white face paint and the most of flamboyant stage outfits, with their stage act featuring such spectacular effects as (simulated) breathing fire on the audience, exploding instruments to name some of the tamer tricks they pulled out of their sleeves during their live acts.
The formula certainly worked with Kiss becoming one of the World’s leading rock bands, selling in excess of for
