Faraz Anwar, born on July 15, 1976, in Karachi, Pakistan, is a pioneering figure in the world of instrumental rock and progressive metal. His musical journey began at the age of six when he was captivated by Yngwie Malmsteen's performance on television, inspiring him to pick up the guitar.
By 1990, Faraz had started playing the guitar and soon embarked on collaborations with prominent Pakistani musicians, including Ali Haider, Junoon, and Sajjad Ali, among others. In 1998, he released his first experimental album, 'Panchi,' and by 2001, his solo instrumental album, "Abstract Point of View," earned him international recognition.
Faraz Anwar's versatility as a multi-instrumentalist and singer became evident with the formation of his black/death metal band, "Dusk," and his progressive metal solo project, "Mizraab," in 2004. Mizraab's debut album, "Mazi, Haal Mustaqbil," showcased his prowess in blending post-grunge and progressive metal seamlessly.

15th July, 1977) is a Pakistani Progressive Metal guitarist known for his solo instrumental work and his band Mizraab. In 6th grade he decided to pick-up guitar playing after seeing a video of guitar vitruoso Yngwie Malmsteen on TV. Faraz got his education from St. Paul and St. Andrews, but left after his matriculation because he wanted to pursue a career in music.
Faraz Anwar started off his career in 1990 as a session guitarist playing for many different musicians. So far he has played with more than 50+ different artists from Pakistan.
